Old
Mill Oak Collection - A classic collection of traditional
oak furniture....
Since Otto Quitmann began business in London in 1884 the
Quitmann name has been associated with quality furniture.
Old
Mill Oak is a comprehensive range of hand crafted oak furniture
manufactured by craftsmen who have a long tradition of working
in solid oak from managed European forests.
The
Old Mill Oak collection of furniture is manufactured from
a combination of solid oak and veneers. A characteristic
of oak is its natural imperfections which usually consist
of small knots, blemishes, cracks and slight variations
in colour. This is perfectly normal.
Moreover,
care should be taken to avoid extremes of temperature as
with any solid wood product there is likely to be some movement
while the wood adjusts to the atmospheric conditions of
your house.
The
decorative lead used is a natural product which when exposed
to the atmosphere will form a naturally protective dull
grey film. During the initial process lead can display various
colours including bronze, blue and even green. The degree
to which these effects occur is governed by environmental
conditions. Generally with time lead will take on its familiar
grey appearance. Should deposits become unsightly or appear
as if the surface of the lead is peeling away, they may
be removed by a very gentle rubbing of fine wire wool.
Many
pieces in the Old Mill Oak collection are extremely heavy
requiring more than one person to lift.
All
measurements are approximate. All goods supplied subject
to the company's terms and conditions of trading, copies
of which are available on request. Oak has a natural tendency
to movement due to atmospheric conditions. Exposure to heat
and sunlight may be detrimental to all furniture. In the
interest of continued improvements the company reserves
the right to change the specification and size without notice.
